A Week in Jackson!

Hey Everyone,

Its official I changed the “lives in”  line on Facebook to Jackson Hole. I have been in Jackson for a week now; living, working, and attending church! Thought it was about time to give a little update.

Summer is defiantly on its way here in the Tetons, the snow is melting fast and skiers are being pushed higher up the slopes in search of skiable snow, but Spring comes before Summer and we are in the middle random weather, landslides, sunshine, rain, and failing weatherman!

I am working for a landscaping company named; Naturescape Designs based here in Jackson. Landscaping is what Iv done for the past 8 years in WA, so its feels pretty normal, other than the severe snow damage and way more intense sun rays at this elevation!!! (6,000 ft. +)

This week I played some pick up ultimate frisbee with some Jackson locals, worked, saw moose and elk, helped with a garage sale, and spent time with the church family. The next things to get done are; get a P.O. box, set up a bank account and learn how to cook dinner!

I tried to post a video of my room but I found out that to post videos on WordPress.com its a $59 upgrade that is needed. So if I ever figure out a way to post them and put up a link I will do that for you guys, but for now we will have to stick to pictures! My room is legit with a personal deck that hangs over a small ski resort with a view of Jackson! God is good.

Church at Cornerstone meets in the evening, I have never been so excited to spend time with a group of people. The gospel community groups, mens leadership meetings and the friendships here make me feel like I’m living in the biblical book of Acts with the early church. Isn’t that how its supposed to be? I think so, I’m learning so much and I will continue to talk about it on here. Stay tuned and stoked on Jesus!

I Moved to Jackson Hole!!!

Friends and Family;

This letter is an attempt to keep you informed on what I’m doing with my life.

If you haven’t heard, I moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming the second week of May.  I moved to partner with a church plant, live out life-on-life ministry, and work in the Jackson Hole community.  I am joining with Cornerstone Church, which was planted two years ago in the Jackson Hole area.   Cornerstone is a thriving body of believers that is growing fast in numbers and maturity.

I first visited Jackson Hole in the spring of  ’08 with a team from The Masters College on a Spring-Break mission’s trip.  I instantly fell in love with the area and local Cornerstone Church. I didn’t realize till later that God was growing deep in me a heart for the people and style of ministry I found in Jackson Hole.  That interest hasn’t changed and I’m going back this time for an indefinite stay.

After graduating from College I had several options of job offers and career moves, but when it came down to the final decision I felt God was still growing my heart for Jackson Hole and Cornerstone Church.  This choice isn’t a career move; it’s not a money move, but it is a move on faith.  I believe this is the style of ministry God has been preparing me for through past ministry opportunities, my love of the outdoors, snowboarding, and a desire for the gospel.

I started to study, pray, and talk to mentors about what I should do with this open space in my life. Through this last year discipleship became a focus; both how I will be discipled by others, and how I will be used to be a discipler of others.  This question challenged me hard-core!  All options considered; I realized that Jackson Hole and Cornerstone Church was the place that allowed me to be discipled and a discipler at this point in my life.  Christ’s last words on earth (The Great Commission) in Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and Make Disciples…” I believe that’s what I’m supposed to be doing with my life.  I also believe that the local church is vital to today’s culture and discipleship. You could say Cornerstone Church and Jackson Hole are the “perfect storm” for ministry in my life. Lifestyle ministry can be tough, but I’m confident that I’m doing what I’m called to.  That’s why I’m moving to Jackson Hole!

I’m stoked about this change in my life!
